Window Wizard

Window Wizard is a program designed to automate tasks related to moving objects around your desktop from screen to screen. It is especially handy in cases where you use your computer in different screen configurations such as docking stations or KVMs. Select a layout you've saved and everything snaps into place.

  • Window Wizard gets added to your startup apps folder.
  • NOTE: Default hot keys will no longer work on the next release. They will be programmable now.
  • <shift> + <ctrl> + <x> will open Window Wizard window even if you closed it, unless you used the Exit option in the menu.

  • Everything in the program is menu driven at this time so the window is empty at the moment with nothing but menu options.

Product Backlog

  • Instructions on how to unhide a specific notify icon for those who want to use the notify icon but don't want the rest of their icons to show.
  • Update downgrade error message. It's confusing.
  • Multi-tab apps such as Excel or Browsers need to not force saving each scenario in a desktop layout. Firefox should move to the proper place whether you're on facebook or mylittlesoftwarecompany without having to save each page.
  • Option to bring all applications to the center of a specific monitor.

Considerations

  • On the fly desktop layout editing.
  • Option to load unopened programs when loading a desktop layout.
  • Auto-loading/adjusting desktop layouts.
